Middle school-aged synod youth (5th-8th grade)--from Superior to Marshfield--are invited to Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, WI for the 2018 Christ Jam Youth Gathering! Lead by the gifted and passionate Synod Youth Board, Christ Jam will feature a keynote speaker, members of Lightswitch band, and plenty of workshops--all centered on the light of God which illumiates the darkness!
All updates regarding Christ Jam will be live by Godstock 2017!

I'm Sammy Henk! I'm 23 years old, but will be 24 when I see all of your faces- where in the world does time go? Just yesterday I was in your chair attending conferences and beginning my journey with God. This is too exciting!

I'm originally from Spooner, Wisconsin, but have lived in Eau Claire now for the past 4 almost 5 years! WOW! I graduated UW-Eau Claire last December with a degree in Organizational Communication - minor emphasis in Leadership Development. I loved it! And now I'm currently serving Hope Lutheran Church in Eau Claire as the Director of Youth and Family Ministry. The most influential step in my faith began when I said the brave and bold YES to serve as a Camp Counselor at Luther Park Bible Camp. That place is out of this world. I'm thankful everyday for the hearts that I met in that place that STILL cherish me and walk hand -in- hand with me.
Your faith is the most beautiful treasure you will ever possess, and I am SO honored to be even a little sliver a part of that.

I can't wait to meet you all! I can't wait to spend the weekend diving into what it means to have Jesus as the light of our world!

The Band

Since their inception, alternative rock band, Lightswitch, has been rapidly gaining momentum. They have shared the stage with many of the top names in Christian music, ranging from Sanctus Real and Tenth Avenue North to Kutless and Needtobreath. Check out their music video to their song, "You Are The Way"

Professional and experienced, the members of Lighswitch are engaging and spontaneous when onstage, while being approachable and sociable offstage. Undoubtedly, their favorite part of any performance is getting to hang out with the audience afterwards. Great with audiences of all ages, they enjoy bringing hope through their music and encouraging the younger generations in their walk with God.

The Christ Jam monetary offering and other donations (see below) will go to The Ronald McDonald House in Marshfield, WI. The Ronald McDonald House provides a home-away-from home and offers support to families seeking medical care for their children. In 2014, The Ronald McDonald House of Rochester, Minnesota served 795 families from 40 states across the United States and 19 different countries. The House is a 501C3 non-profit organization. Governed by a volunteer board of trustees, the House hosts 42 families each night and has been in operation since 1980.

Adult Bag Donations:

Travel size hand sanitizer, toothpaste, body wash, & lotion.

Kleenex packs, dental floss, individual tea bags, fuzzy socks, gum, breath mints.

Kid Bag Donations:

Small coloring/activity books, 8-pack crayons, colored pencils, slinkies, deck of cards, 16-50 piece puzzles, pencils, stickers, small spiral notepads, small candies (no nuts).
